Potable Water Law
Beginning in 2027, California properties can no longer use drinking (potable) water to irrigate purely decorative turf. AB 1572 phases out potable-water irrigation of “nonfunctional turf” — grass that isn’t used for recreation or gathering – on government, commercial, and HOA properties statewide.
